About Dr. Smillie
Dr. Smillie attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned his Bachelor of Science, Department of Kinesiology. Following his undergraduate studies his received his Masters of Science, Department of Kinesiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Smillie attend medical school at Albany Medical College of Union University, located in Albany New York. He then completed his internship in general surgery at Albany Medical School.
Dr. Smillie then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Albany Medical Center. He completed his medical training with a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Smillie continued his training with a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Mercy Hospital/New England Foot and Ankle Specialists, Portland, Maine.
Dr. Smillie aims at improving the pain and function of his patients so that they may return to their previous level of function, activities and hobbies.
Dr. Smillie is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedics.
